Born and raised in Greenwood, South Carolina Dr. Poole grew up on a farm in the country. Quickly realized at a young age, Dr. Poole liked to work with his hands and developed a love of science and nature that would eventually lead him to his dental career. Dr. Poole lives in Anderson and is happily married to Allie and they have two Cavalier Kings Charles Spaniels, Sydney who is 5 and 3 year old Scarlett; you may even see Scarlett at your appointment since she is our office therapy pup. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Poole enjoys hiking, playing tennis, photography and going to concerts. Dr. Poole has been a life long tennis player and even played collegiate tennis at The Citadel.
His interest for dentistry began at an early age when his grandmother decided to improve her smile with braces. The transformation in her smile and confidence sparked a lifelong dream to become a dentist. She also imparted wisdom to Dr. Poole that, “It is nice to be important but more important to be nice.” Dr. Poole always takes his beloved Mama’s words to heart when treating his patients. When not practicing, Dr. Poole takes time to volunteer his services and travel abroad on dental mission trips.
He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. Honor and integrity are two tenets of a Citadel education and Dr. Poole believes in holding himself to the highest standard. He is very passionate about his work and strives to constantly improve his dental practice. A lifelong learner, Dr. Poole travels around the United States advancing his dental education and takes over 5x the required dental classes every year.
